I wiped the profiles, but still no change. I'll give it one more shot.

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Builds don't seem to be signed anymore. So now when I try to install, I get a popup that says something about the publisher not being known. When I try to do an update the next day, it now always fails. And I still haven't been able to get it to open in Metro/Modern UI.
Also, now when I set Nightly as the default, the tile doesn't update to show the larger white Firefox icon, but the IE icon does drop to the smaller IE icon (so I know default has been set, but it doesn't seem to register anymore).
Needless to say, frustrated. Anyone know if there's an open bug about failure to register as default?

Why don't we just put It up on the windows 8 store?
Will it cost too much?

There is no Firefox release that supports Metro yet and the work in progress builds that supports Metro is not really meant for regular users also.

Re: Firefox's Metro App version?
Not sure that Firefox can be placed on the Windows Store since its a hybrid app and a browser. It won't run on Windows RT. Not to mention, the Windows Store App Agreement and fees could be applicable.

Any closer to an actual beta build at all? The "elm" nightlies are very hit and miss ... mostly miss!

I'll take the deafening silence as a "no" then, and assume development is either stalled or abandoned.

In that case, might I refer you to my previous question . . .

There's been no news for months, and these Elm nightlies still only launch in normal desktop mode.

Dunno, you could hop on #windev on irc.mozilla.org and ask the actual people working on stuff that are in there.

Due to you using Win32 and not Win64.
Though you can try the -metrodesktop switch like for example.
"C:\Program Files\Nightly\firefox.exe" -metrodesktop
