1.1 compatible themes, 2nd try

Post by sasquatch »

(New thread to be less confusing for those just looking. Please test the theme with the latest available 1.1 nightly build before saying it works. No extra steps to "make it work" beyond installation of the theme.)

Are there any? Give the link and screen shot if you have it.

The latest (2/25/2005) nightly firefox build further broke themes with the new options dialogue box. If you have or know of a theme which works completely with 1.1 including the new options box, list it here.

It would be a mighty big help if you posted the new version of classic.jar for those theme authors that don't install/run the latest nightlies.

Anders

Here is a link to the new files and one modified file from classic on the trunk for the new pref panel that I used to get the pref panel to work with the Silver Skin theme as I detailed in this post. I'll leave it up for a week or so and I expect that since it is new that there will be modifications to it. Also, the current theme on the trunk does not have an icon for the tab pref panel but that is easy enough to add.

BTW: I've also sent an email to the author of the Silver Skin them letting him know about this along with the info that the support can be added without breaking compatibility with previous versions of Firefox.

hmmm.... I would really rather have the full new classic.jar... (if that's possible)

that way I can figure out on my own how the files are interconnected etc.

Thanks

Anders - I'll send you a PM with a link... I doubt you'll get much more out of that than just adding the files as I detailed to an existing theme since the references to other files are for the most part the same except for the files in the link I provided except as they relate to specific xul files which are of course not included in classic.jar.

right... It will just be nice for me to be able to see it in a holistic sense.

thanks (sorry for being troublesome) I just don't usualy deal with nightlies... so finding the new classic.jar files to peak through can be a pain.

Just for the record, Mostly Crystal will not be 1.1-compatible until a day or two after 1.1 is released as the official final. :)

I did some small update to the new nightly Firefox build, but I won't public it until the code in the nightly build is a bit more stable.
