Adding a checkbox to the bottom of the settings still requires localization. I don't see how your solution addresses item 2 (or item 1, for that matter. You're still using "Sanitize".)

Keyboard comamnds should be equivalents of menu commands. This method doesn't allow for any way to "sanitize now" via the mouse.

Wording in the dialog could (should) be changed, and could be more verbose than a single, unclear verb. I just presented a concept; I could work out better wording with some thought.

Mouse-triggered sanitizing could be an extension (adds a menu item and a toolbar button). I think a menu item or toolbar button for this feature could create unsavory comments from reviewers (like I noted).

C'mon, who wouldn't like a visit from Mrs. Butt Cleanse?

Sanitize will work fine if it makes a paper band appear around the browser like the toilets in hotel rooms.

In Flashpeak's Slimbrowser, the button to "Clean everything including history, cookies and cached files" is called "Clean All Trace".

Does it actually wipe the information, or just delete it?

The cleaning is not selective. It deletes just everything. All the cookies, the whole cache, history, all your passwords. Thats why I find "cleaning" a misleading euphemism. :)

I'd prefer "Clear Tracks" (Datenspuren loeschen).

It is just deliting it, AFAIK

The term's probably copyrighted, though...

What about a "De-Rez" button ... a sort of subtle computer-geek homage to TRON.

Clean or Cleanse. Seriously, Sanitize sounds like you're trying to make the browser sane.
