To powerbook:
I use your .mozconfig setting and rebuild firefox release 1.0.1 with zh-TW language !
It really works on My PowerBook G4 7447A rev1.1. Thank you very much!
I have some questions about it>

1.Can I use those beautiful firefox icons in my rebuild dmg file ?
2.If I want to rebuild Aviary/Branch version, have I get the Aviary/Branch source code ?
Or just get the release 1.0.1 source and then use "cvs co -r AVIARY_1_0_1_20050124_BRANCH mozilla/client.mk"?
I can not find Aviary/Branch source at mozilla ftp . Where can I download it ?

Thank you very much!

asif2001, welcome to the forum.
Its nice to more builders for Mac OS around here! :)

1. You need to ask MacGeneral (the creator) for permission.
2. Download the Firefox 1.0.1 source code here. Or pull it from cvs, with FIREFOX_1_0_1_RELEASE.
You pull nightly branch code from AVIARY_1_0_1_20050124_BRANCH

@powerbook
I saw you filed <a href="https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284130">bug 284130</a>. Thanks for that.

Additionally, do you see this: click on a link to Bugzilla *to open in a new tab*, the new tab comes forward (OK) but the URL is not displayed in the URL bar, and the Reload button/menu is greyed out. Related ?
(the reload button is actually not there, as in your bug; the URL bar is empty).

it happens to me everytime with https URL.

You're welcome.
Why the sad tone? There's no competition about being the one to post bugreport, is it?

I searched before I posted at bugzilla, but did not find an existing bugreport.

@phiw13. I'm unable to reproduce.
When I click a BugZilla link it opens in a new tab, and the reload button is displayed as soon as the page is completelly loaded. The URL is also shown in the address field.

Icon

Post by MacGeneral »

Because many people asked powerbook where to get an Icon (with complete Artwork):

I created one for any private build of Firefox for MacOs... <a href="http://stadt.heim.at/newyork/132368/Downloads/FirefoxAppleIcon.sit">here you can download it!</a>

I talked to powerbook and we thought it would be best to make an own Icon set for all the other builds!

the new Icon looks a bit different:
<img src="http://stadt.heim.at/newyork/132368/stuff/FFApple.png" height="128" widht="128" align="middle">

Feel free to use it, but please contact me if you use it in a public build!

Critique & Feedback welcome!

How about providing appropriate links to the changelogs on the web page?

Lovely icon, by the way!

argent. Afaik Bonsai is the only official "changelog".
Of course I could add a link to it, but the list is pretty useless to most users. I say its better to follow Peter(6)'s threads. :)

OK, I narrowed down the problem a bit: it only happens when you have the following pref set to false

Code: Select all

security.warn_entering_secure.show_once
(show warning message every time you enter a secure page).

Of I am to Bugzilla.

Build 1.3.2005

Post by Damrod »

I just downloaded the current build of your optimized Firefox, dated 1st March 05. Looks nice, and seems to work good. But I encountered some flaws I would like to point out, so you maybe can fix them in a future build:

1. Preferences Window
I really like the more Safari like Preferences Window, unfortunately I can not close it once I have opened it. The only active button is the minimize button. No 'OK' button or similar to be found.

2. Icon Errors
In tabbed browsing, on the left side of the tabs next to the title, the icon is displayed blurred and pixilated. Unless the cursor rolls over the tab-drawer.

I made a screenshot of it, and posted it on my web-space at ASPHost. Maybe that helps:
http://aa.1asphost.com/Damrod/Screenshot_1_3_05.pdf

It's in PDF, as I made a standard Screenshot under OS X.

Hope the minor flaws can be purged in the future, as I really like it, and besides thgose really works like a charm.

Cheers,

Damrod

@Damrod. I`ll start by pointing out that I dont code Firefox, I only compile nightly builds of the code Mozilla release.

Back to your problems:
1. The missing close button in the new Preferences window is Bug #283660.
If you find it annoying, vote for it...

2. I see the same for the favicon on my homepage. When the tab is inactiv the favicon dont display correctly.
First search Bugzilla, then report it if you cant find an existing bug. ;)

phiw13. Its reproduzible now, when it follow your latest instructions.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the quick reply. :)

Good to know about it. So I guess it's off to Bugzilla for me. ;) I'll stop there first next time I encounter a problem. Anyways, still good work by you, and thanks again for the quick reply.

Cheers,

Dear powerbook:
Where can I replace the firefox icons and about.png after build done?
Before make the dmg file, there are two firefox.app in mozilla.
I can not tell which to replace. And I can not find about.png to replae.
Or, if I want to add some speed up confings, what should I do ?
Thanks for your help.

asif2001. Welcome to the MozillaZine forum. :)
1. The two icon files, firefox.icns and document.icns, can be replaced in the firefox.app. But about.png and aboutCredits.png needs to be replaced in the source code, before you compile Firefox.
Its easier to replace them all in the source, then compile!
2. The "speed up configs" must be added to your .mozconfig file.
You find information about building Firefox and other Mozilla applications here:
