well i used phoenix, later on firebird 0.6 (milestone); then there was a time when i updated to every nightly build that came out. that was when many problems started (for me). features were added without possibility to deactivate them like for example autoscroll. i just hate this feature, that's why i asked. i don't think i have to test a version that i would hate because of the built in autoscroll (that wouldn't help you because i would only post that i hate it ). there were also other problems i had using the nightly builds (-> crashes) that's why i switched back to the milestone. But it seems like you're missing the point of this release which is explicitely to fix a handful of bugs that existed <strong>in 0.6</strong> like the autocomplete crasher and the DOM security issue that broke a lot of bookmarks.
hmm "my" milestone never crashed that's why i asked what would be the advantages to update to 0.6.1. i understand that many bugs are fixed from one milestone to another, but i didn't have major problems using 0.6 so far and new versions just had built in features and bugs which i didn't like. that's why i was so sceptical about 0.6.1. if features like autoscroll can be turned off in 0.6.1 i'm going to switch to 0.6.1 right now
edit: just have to add a couple of thoughts:asa wrote:Nice to see you're so interested in making Firebird successful.
there are actually a lot of people that switched to firebird because i recommended it. i'm sorry, that i'm not willing to test every version that is published. i just have to have a reliable, secure, stable, small, ... browser on my harddisc and for me 0.6 is such a browser. just because i refuse to test a version with built in autoscroll doesn't mean that i'm not thankfull for the work you do to create a better version of firebird !
It's not only the GUI stuff that has improved or added features, also the underlying rendering engine Gecko has undergone improvements to improve the rendering of webpages.

Hey, that is kinda cool looking! Although, he seems to be missing a certain, how would you say, showmanship?asa wrote:Sailfish wrote:Okay, whoever dumped a vat of this stuff all over asa's avatar ... fess-up!
should I go to my blue version? The empty one is just my template as I play around with various colors and textures.

Just fixed.

Will this fix go into the 0.61 RC1 or a later RC? Also will it contain fixes for Bug 213390(a critical bug that isn't fixed yet, and a regression from 0.6 since 0.6 doesn't have this bug)?

Yeah I would say that that bug should get fixed too for the 0.6.1 milestone, especially when you want to enlarge your userbase with new users.

As I wrote in this post: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... c&start=20
also with this version I have problems with this page:
http://www.tiscali.it - (one of the biggest italian and european ISP)
Sometimes looks ok, but sometimes has the center column blank. Try hitting reload one or two times and I think you will be able to reproduce the problem....
Bye

Sailfish wrote:Interesting, it also appears with the Downloads and History sidebars...Leonard wrote:I don't understand why the autoscroll appears, if I middle-click on a bookmark in the sidebar...
Yeah that's because the sidebar is a <browser/> that just loads various xul documents. I had fixed this a few days ago. Then a new autoscroll impl was checked in and backed out. So my fix got removed and it was broken again for a few days but I think it should be working again...? (not in 0.6.1 builds)

duns0014 wrote:major bug, tough to see how this hasn't been reported yet. when you click on the little arrow on the right of the url bar to get the dropdown menu of recently visited sites, the menu is shifted far to the left so that the right edge of the menu touches the left edge of the url bar. this only happens if you take the search bar out of the toolbar, if you leave it in, things look just fine.
I can confirm this has been happening in a lot of builds that I've been using. Any kind of movement of the search bar whether you remove it or set it to the left of the url bar causes severe left movement. I did mention it once, but got no response.

That bug was (according to the report) introduced in recent trunk builds, so it won't be in 0.6.1.

Obviously it should be red. Why is everyone suggesting green? This is Mozilla, not Netscape!
