Bug Report -- New "darken header" option breaks view zoom:
When the darken header option is active, you can no longer zoom in or out in the message pane. When the option is unchecked, zoom function is restored. I have Compact header 2.0.7 on T-bird 17.0.3 on Windows 7. I also use the Zoom Button for T-bird add-on.

I cannot confirm this (also 17.0.3 on Windows 7). Could you try with a fresh profile and no other addons installed?

I opened in safe mode and then enabled my add-ons one by one. Everything works now. Weird.

I'll re-post if it reoccurs.

Enhancement request: make delivery time copyable

Post by Dwig »

The delivery time of a message is shown at the right of the header bar. If I hover the mouse over it, I get a "select" icon (the I-bar), but it's inoperable -- I can't select the text. I sometimes used this as a quick way to refer to an earlier message in a reply or resend.

Yes, there are alternatives, but this was so convenient, and I still don't want to lose the compact header.

Thanks much for a nice addon.

My recent update to

Thunderbird Version 24.0a1
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.0a1
Application Build ID 20130621031056

Has resulted in the add-on simply not offering to collapse the header.

Perhaps because of the label name changes in bug 686427.
Try change in compactHeaderOverlay-9.xul toField3.label to toField4.label.

I noticed the same problem today after updating from Thunderbird/23.0a2 to Thunderbird/24.0a2 (BuildID 20130702182008) using CompactHeader 2.0.7.

I updated to TB v24.0 today and also notice this problem. Additionally, choosing Position of Header Toolbar selection of Invisible is broken and also Toggle header by double click is ineffective.

Thanks wsm! That's the fix! Compact header 2.0.7 is now working fine on my system. =D>

Is this extension still maintained? If yes, when can we expect a version that works with Thunderbird 24 and newer?

I managed to make it work with TB28 today, by first exiting thunderbird, and then by basically
extracting the extension .xpi file into the directory with the same name, e.g.

- extract {999999-9999999-999999}.xpi into a directory called {999999-9999999-999999} in the same location

then edit the file, in there, called:

chrome/CompactHeader/content/compactHeaderOverlay-9.xul

and make the change above to replace toField3.label with toField4.label.

After renaming the .xpi file we extracted, to ensure it's not reloaded instead of the directory content, and making the above changes, things worked perfectly again.

I know it's not 'supported' but it works ;)

I would much prefer an updated set of binaries though...

Sorry for the late delay. I do not really understand what you would like to do: Are you in one/two line compact header mode or expanded mode? It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot.

Sorry for the late answer. I didn't receive notifications from mozillazine, so I first heard about this bug when somebody wrote a review at AMO. I will fix this immediately.
