The 17.0.8 candidate builds are up (both retail and ESR branches). This should be the last "dot" release on the retail branch before 24.0, unless there are respins for security issues on esr-17. There still should be 17.0.9 and 17.0.10 ESR releases for organizations until they are ready to switch to 24.0.2.

The other branches should merge next Monday, moving 24.0 to beta and making 26.0 the new trunk (meaning, any current trunk bustages may migrate to aurora then as well).

Currently I'm using my own TB 23 builds (currently comm-beta). But where does the code for TB 23 go to if 24.0 moves to beta? I don't think it will go to comm-release, because TB 23 will not be released? But where will it move to?

It will go to comm-release within the next few days, mostly because SeaMonkey is going to release its version 2.20 from it. It's just that there will never be a final TB 23.0 release tag or build given that 24.0 will be the next release (and it will come from comm-esr24 rather than comm-release).

Nowhere. With the merge from comm-beta, any comm-release specific changesets are superseded by whatever landed on comm-beta. In turn, whatever landed specific to comm-beta is merged into comm-release and then superseded by whatever is merged from comm-aurora. Finally, whatever is merged from comm-central supersedes any changeset that landed specific to comm-aurora after it was merged into comm-beta.

Thus, while comm-release is the end of that line, the branch-specific changesets aren't lost. They are still in the repositories history, thus any prior state can be recovered:
  • Follow the graph to see where the release branches for comm-beta and comm-release went off;
  • or choose a specific tag to jump to any given release build.
This used to be different with the old comm-{1.9.1,1.9.2,2.0,miramar} branches which each had their own dedicated repository, which simply was frozen in its final state once support for that branch ended (and the same applies to the repositories for the ESR branches).

The comm-beta/comm-release merge happened last night, note that there is always an "END" tag for the previous cycle. Thus, to get to the last change set covering the (hypothetical) TB 22.0 release, go to RELEASE_22_END (which will be RELEASE_23_END for the 23.0 cycle before 24.0 is merged into comm-release).

As you can see, nothing effectively gets lost, you only have to know how to find it. ;-)

Is the space between the lines since Windows Earlybird 25a1 bigger than before? This seems to be the same problem as the bookmarks sidebar in firefox. How can I turn it back?

I found it myself:

#folderTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row {
height: 1.6em !important;
min-height: 0 !important;
}
#threadTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row {
height: 1.6em !important;
min-height: 0 !important;
}
