I'd like to see this fix, too... trying the 1.5a builds I've started to see it again...

hmm... it would. However, that problem existed in 0.6 anyway. I think it's time to just release 0.6.1 - the whole point of 0.6.1 is that it was a quick interim release to fix up 0.6 instead of waiting for 0.7.

If we wait much longer, 0.6.1 will be coming out at the same time as 0.7. Would be better to just get 0.6.1 out of the way and concentrate on moving things forward on the trunk for 0.7

Well, for me that's not a problem. After 0.6.1 is released I'll go back to trunk builds where the repaint bug is fixed...

The majority have had problems with this build as have I... it is IMO unstable in many areas.

EDIT: Yes, I see now this is milestone, not trunk.

So far so good. :)

A small patch (gtk1, gtk2) has been posted for the dhtml menu bug that affects linux, how about workin this into 0.6.1? Sure would be nice.

There's also my patch to add an id to the menuseparator so 'Open in Tabs' and the separator can both be hidden with userChrome.css, but that's hardly a big problem like the dhtml menu bit.

I'm not sure if its something I've done or an extension I've installed, but I cannot seem to save image files with the latest 0.61 candidate. Can anyone else confirm this?

RC compiled with GCC 3.2?

Post by daihard »

That's what about:buildconfig shows, but then why is it running smoothly on my Red Hat 7.3 box? The official build of Thunderbird is built with GCC 3.2, and it refused to run on the same box.

Problem with java on Linux with 0.6.1

Post by codfather »

When you load FB from the command line in RH 9.0 - kernel 2.4.20-19.9 you get the following error message.

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /home/nhaddock/MozillaFirebird/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so [/home/nhaddock/MozillaFirebird/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol: __vt_17nsGetServiceByCID]

This RH version uses GCC 3.2.2-5.

I have seen this before on other releases, but then another nightly normally fixes it.

I have removed .mozilla and Mozillafirebird completely and re-installed.

I have re-downloaded the java plugin.

Anyone got any thoughts?

These release candidates all launch with the mozilla.org start page. Wouldn’t it be better if they started with the texturizer help page like the latest nightlies?

FireBird for Solaris?

Post by veneta »

Sorry to ask this question, I am sure someone must have posted it before, but I couldn't find it on the search engine. Can someone tell me when I can expect a solaris buidl? I am really eager to start playing with FireBird.... or where can I get the source and attempt to build it myself. Tried the firebird download page but saw no source links. thanks!
