mini mailing list for BCC not possible?

Post by Websun »

I am used to sending emails out to a select group of some 12 people.
In OE, I can put them all on BCC in a draft and copy this lot into each new email.
I can't find a way in Thunderbird to do the same.

I can't even copy whatever I have in my draft as addresses.

Do I need to go back to OE to do this or is there a hidden way to preserve and copy my mailing list?

In your address book, create a new list (File > New > Mailing List), then put your 12 ppl into this list. When you want to send to them, just put the mailing list into a single Bcc: entry, and you're good to go.

Thanks!
The only problem I have with that is that the list is not editable on the fly. e.g. Once I have entered the list in an email, I cannot delete a person from it.
I can't even see who is in it until I have sent it and looked in my sent folder.

That means I have to create several lists to provides some variation.

You have the imppression that you have a list with 12 people in it. If that is not the case, create more than one list.

Not a problem, hope you're back in business.
