Export/Import saved passwords Seamonkey
hi
What's the best way to export/import saved passwords in Seamonkey?
Does exist an Add-on?
I have SM version 2.24 installed on WIN7/64-bit/SP1.

Or just use SeaMonkey's built-in Sync.
But then again, I may be wrong.

Edit | Preferences | Sync
You'll need to create an account, and set up the account in each profile you want to sync passwords among. There are several features that you can sync, and you can select any or all of them. I only use Sync to keep my bookmarks in sync, so I've not tried syncing passwords.

Are passwords store in signons.sqlite ?
If so, is it sufficient to simply copy that file from one computer to another?
(If that works, I'd call that the "poor man's sync" .)

Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Export/Import saved passwords Seamonkey
Yes, I'd think that would work, but I've never tried it. The user names and passwords are encrypted within the signons.sqlite file, but as long as a mater password hasn't been set, I don't think SM woul have any trouble with reading a file copied from another profile. Even if a master password had been set, you'd probably only need to provide it in the new profile. Of course, I don't think there would be a way to merge the usernames/passwords with an existing file that way, if that's what the OP wants to do.
But then again, I may be wrong.

What about Password Exporter extension?

It seems to work well.

Sounds like that should do what you want. I've never used it. Some of the recent comments at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/password-exporter/ sound like it may not work well with current versions of Firefox, so maybe not with SM either.

I've installed and it works well with the newest SM version 2.24.
