I have no idea why the profile is not corrupt with 23.0b1.

I thought your problem was with 24 betas? AFAIK there was no 23.0b3.

I'm just suggesting a new profile since you indicated it works with one. That rules out any extensions causing a problem because they haven't been installed, and resets any Config Editor changes you may have made manually.

I suppose I could create a test profile, install all 51 of your extensions, and see what happens. Maybe when time permits, and I'm feeling adventurous.

Personally I've gone back to using TB 17.0.8, because it should update to 24.0 this week, and I will discontinue testing until the 31.0 Daily becomes available.

If anyone cared to know, the bug is still present with 26.0b1, 27.0b1 and 28.0b1 versions, so it's almost eight months that this is driving me crazy.

Nothing in Tb error console, nothing in Sysinternals Process Explorer to indicate something wrong.

The only thing I have found is this thread. My problem is identical to Len's. If I try to forward any message with a non-opening attachment the attached file in the attachment pane will open just fine…

I have deleted mimeTypes.rdf, I have reconstructed the msf indices, I have compacted folders, deleted temp files, I have tried everything. :(

As it is something to do with my very specific "corrupted" profile (which magically becomes uncorrupted, if I revert to 25.0b1), there is no case to report of a bug. This is why I ask here, in the forums, in case someone has similar symptoms. Indeed, there has been one, years ago, but mods here are exercising their rights or obligations, in the way each of them conceives them.

I had gone the safe way all this time, reverting to the release branch.

Now that betas have become releases, the bug has appeared in the 31.0 release. Here I go:

With or without addons, clicking on any attachment of any type, or using the Open option in the context menu on the attached file name, does nothing… The attachment(s) won't open.

Is it just me? I wonder why I can't find any other report of this.

I'll copy this on release support forum, too.
