Web Panels
I just finished compiling a new build, and found that there's a new Web Panels sidebar. When I view it, i just see some text that says "The implementation of this panel is in progress." There's also a Web Panels icon in the "Customize Toolbar" window (although it's just the bookmarks icon in Qute, and unimplemented in the other themes).
Does anybody know what the functionality of the Web Panels sidebar will be? I searched bugzilla, but didn't find anything. I checked bonsai, but it wasn't very informative.

I built Firebird based on the 2003-08-02 tree, and it does have Web Panels. However, it only seems to display the contents of the link I drag onto it. Am I doing something wrong?

As far as I know, that's all that is implemented so far. I haven't found anything specific to this in Bugzilla, but you can check Bonsai.

From Ben Goodger's blog (<a href="http://www.bengoodger.com/blog">http://www.bengoodger.com/blog</a>):
Mozilla Firebird 0.7 Heats Up
Feature development for Mozilla Firebird 0.7 is heating up. Today dave began working on a new Web Panels implementation that's results in:
<a href="http://www.bengoodger.com/software/mb/WebPanelsMTBlog.jpg">Movable Type Panel</a>
This system allows you to have a bookmark on your personal toolbar that reads "Post to MT Blog" that loads the post form in a sidebar, among other things. <a href="http://www.bengoodger.com/software/mb/webpanels.txt">Full details here</a> (slightly out of date).
I think this is a great new feature, and will go some distance towards reinforcing Firebird's position as "Blogging's Killer App."
In other news, I'm <a href="http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=18162">testing</a> some download system changes and bryner is <a href="http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=18136">testing</a> some new password manager enhancements.

What use besides blogging?
Hi. Does anyone have any idea what web panels may be good for besides blogging? I do blog occasionally, but not nearly enough for me to go ecstatic about it. If it's such a great feature, there's gotta be some other use for it, too. Any creative ppl here?
