What happened to Preferences Cleaner?

I still have the extension installed (Last Updated in Feb. 25), but for some reason it isn't listed on Mozilla's Addons site anymore.

I was wondering if anyone knew why, and/or if there's a similar alternative in-case this addon become incompatible?

I've got Preferences Cleaner as well and never realized that it was removed from AMO. Wondering why as well. There is Preferences Monitor available: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... s-monitor/
that seem to combine eCleaner and the monitor. Haven't tried it yet though. I used to use eCleaner by itself years ago and switched to Preferences Cleaner since the latter is/was more thorough. Read the reviews about Preference Monitor though, as well as the developer's replies.

The author may have decided to remove it. From what I gathered the author had three versions up till September 2011 and then did one update on February 24, 2013.

Too bad if the author decided to remove Preferences Cleaner from AMO. I hope it still will work in the future. Hope that it wasn't AMO's decision to delete it for some reason.

Tried the Preferences Monitor extension which includes eCleaner and didn't like it - too complicated for me - so I removed it. Have no idea why the author of eCleaner decided to add the eCleaner (preferences cleaner) to the Preferences Monitor and abandoned the standalone eCleaner.

Yes, it's a strange decision. Like you, I just couldn't get on with Preferences Monitor: the instructions are inadequate unless you have relevant programming knowledge (which I don't). Try as I might, I couldn't get it to stop pushing out pointless warnings about changes in TabMixPlus and GMail, so I disabled it. I've kept it purely because of eCleaner, which I enable and run occasionally. But I also don't see why he abandoned the standalone version.
