Post by Compixulo »

Hi guys:

I've just tried to join youtube and a strange web appear to me. It says that I need to download something, but I suspect that it is some kind of virus. I've not download anything yet. Can you confirm if it is a legal tool from Firefox?

How can I solve this? I cant navigate in youtube.

Does it happen in safe mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode#Windows

Also, did you download anything media/video related recently?

Seeing as the Link is named Mozila Firefox System tools. (Note the Misspelling) I would be 100% sure it does not come from Mozilla

Mozila FireFox System tools. The two capital F's in FireFox is a tip-off, too.

And there is "softeware", as well as "This networks tools designed for our customers only!". Doesn't sound like a native English speaker wrote this, unless maybe he's 11 years old.

A different user who posted of at SuMO mentioned that Uniblue appeared with this Mozila FireFox crap but wasn't specific as to where he saw it. In the past we have had questions about Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC malware, which could be located and removed by MalwareBtyes.

So it only happens on Youtube.
Do you have any Youtube "downloaders" (extension)?

Are you able to (safely) determine the "Download" link's URL?

I don't use any extension or plugin in Firefox (only adblock), and malwarebyte has cleaned all pc without problems.

How did you read that screen capture? It is much too small to read.

Click on the image to go to the image at tinypic. You can see a full size version of the image by clicking on the picture there.

That does not work with SeaMonkey, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. There is no larger image at tinypic with clicking the image. If I check the properties, it is 160 px by 90 px.
