My Imap mail is hosted on a host with a name that does not match its ssl certificate. I used to be able to add an exception for mail.my_domain.com:993.
But this does not seems to work any more with the latest build.

Does it work for anybody to add an ssl certificate exception in the latest build ?

The UI may not prompt you to add such an exception anymore, but did you try adding it manually with tools.options.advanced.view certificates then add the exception there.

Yes I did try both ways. It can do certificate from https://somehost, but with imap at port 993 I have both tried with https://mailhost:993 and just mailhost:993 and it cannot download the cert and the button to add the exception is greyed out.

The problem reported in that bug looks a bit different as it was related to self signed certificate.

For me my domain is hosted by hostmonster.com so they do have a proper certicate for *.hostmonster.com with a valid CA chain.
But as I am reading from my domain mailhost as mail.{my_domain}.net so there is a mismatch between the hostname in the certificate and the name of the host.

It used to be that I could add an exception using mail.{my_domain}.net:993 and it would download the *.hostmonster.com cert.
But now the add exception tool won't talk any port other the standard 443 (https) to download the cert.

It the exception is already there then it works, but I cannot setup new machine where i have to re-add the exception.

There are certainly enough interested contributors to keep TB alive and well. The problem is fixing the thoughtless Gecko core changes that break builds at the rate of 2-3/week.

Blink not WebKit, but yeah, would love to see that. Will never happen though, Gmail and mail in the browser is their priority :/

Webkit/Blink is/are browser engine(s). There are lage chunks of mail and news code needed to create a Mail/News application that Webkit doesn't have. That's why the first release of Opera Next with the webkit/blink engine didn't (and still doesn't) come with a Mail client (Like Opera 12 does/did).
