If "mail.compose.addresswidget.numRowsShownDefault" is set to 1 it doesn't allow for any new cc lines. Hitting enter just blanks out the current address and doesn't create a new line. I prefer 1 as default but occasionally do need to send the message to 2 or more people. The only way to do that is to have "mail.compose.addresswidget.numRowsShownDefault" default to at least 2.

Does anyone know if that's a bug or feature? If the default is 1 you should still be able to create new send lines if need be.

With the pref set to 1 you can actually enter more addresses.
You just can't see them, because there is no scrollbar.

To test for yourself, enter 2 or more addressees Do file>>send later. Then open that message.
The fact that you can't see them is a bug IMO

Thanks Joe, I did test it and you are right, it is loading the new addresses to send. That's good because I only prefer 1 default. Maybe I should file a bug if someone hasn't already.

I would say it's not possible to show the scrollbar as the widget (scrollbutton-up/scrollbar/scrollbutton-down) is taller than the textbox. It's allready there but because of this not shown.

But between the headers and the mail text where is a splitter you can use to make the header area taller and see more address fields.

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425451#c27

#425451 [Thunderbird:Message Compose Window]-message compose window defaults to four lines for recipients, wasting screen real estate/vertical space (add pref: mail.compose.addresswidget.numRowsShownDefault=3; allow manual resizing to minimum of 1 row) [All]
Yeah, this condition with the pref set to 1 was missed when that change landed.
In my mind there should never be a condition that "hides" addressees that will be included when you hit send.
I guess these types of problems will go away when we finally get single line multiple entry.
(need to nudge JosiahOne) :?
