SM 2.29 - 1000S OF E-MAIL ADDRESSES SCRAMBLED !

Can't believe this...version 2.29 has caused all our address books to be scrambled; 1000s of e-mail addresses just scrambled and no longer in order and, on 15 different machines. Don't know what the problem is, but my secretaries are frazzled, so we're reinstalling 2.26.
Anyone have suggestions ?

What does "scrambled" mean? Are the values for email addresses corrupted in each record, or are you simply saying that the records are not being displayed in the order anticipated?

By 'scrambled', I mean they are now not in any kind of order, not alphabetical or by e-mail address (es). I got one smaller mailing list back in order by clicking the top of the e-mail column, then clicking the top of the name column. Exited that list, came back to it and it was unsorted again. Send out over 7,000 client e-mails a day...can't/won't keep doing this !

Switched back to 2.26.1 for now. Will wait for 2.29 to be fixed.

Did the emails become unscrambled when you went back to 2.26.1?

Am having the same problem. If no solution soon will also switch back to 2.26.

Ditto for me but it doesn't matter as I seldom use the Address book.

Just clicking on the Name column header does not correct the sort. If I click on Email then Name it sorts correctly but is scrambled the next time I look at it.

I have to click on another column like Nickname and then go back to Name (last, first) to sort correctly.

Agree. I used click on e-mail then click on name to get it sorted correctly. Now back to 2.26.1 so I don't have to deal with the bug until Mozilla fixes it.

I don't use SeaMonkey or follow it. I am not certain if it will make any difference but you might want to get an account at bugizilla and VOTE for the bug. Don't add any comments, if a bunch of people post in a bug without adding any information it is more likely to be ignored because it becomes impossible to get the useful information out of it.

I noticed it too. Very strange. I only have about 60 in my address book. But some are out of order for some reason. I checked the properties of some of these to see if some have more info filled out than others and if thats the problem, but didn't see that. I use Thunderbird also, it seems to be ok.
