New Google Maps Not Working In FF - Here Is The Classic URL

The new Google maps works in Chrome and IE but not in Firefox apparently. You can't even get to the
settings to go back to the classic version.

Here is the URL to get back to the classic version of Google maps directly.

FWIW, Maps work fine for me in All Firefox versions... But I do like the classic version better.

What version of FF are you using and what OS?

I'm on FF 32.0 RC1 and tried it in both Win 7 and Win 8.1 and I just get the LOADING bar on the top of the map and then it freezes completely.

Google "New Google Maps Sucks" and "New Google Maps Not Working Firefox" and you'll see same problem for a lot of FF users.

It is only working in Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer. Firefox is the only browser not working with the new maps.

Makes you wonder if the Devs at Google coded something for FF to not work so people would use Chrome more LOL.

No problem here with either the old or the new version of Google maps with Firefox 31.0 under Win Vista.

Both versions of Google maps display with no problem for me using a pristine profile.

I have ver.32 in my work machine (OSX) and always get me to the New version, even I choose again and again that I like the Old Version. I deleted the cookies and tried again and nothing...

Have the 28 version in my Laptop (OSX) and works flawlessly.
I have to use a direct link https://www.google.com/maps?output=classic

Does this issue is only in 32 version?.

I found the new version slower than the classic version. I dislike the way the street view works on the newer version.

I believe it's the old URL that's the problem: https://maps.google.com/maps (even with "?output=classic")-- it gives us just a static, non-functional map. The new URL, as others have said, seems to work fine: https://www.google.com/maps?output=classic . The problem is that many sites still use the old URL. So now I have to replace the "maps." with "www." and they work fine.

I'm not sure what the actual problem is, but FF is still not handling the "new" classic maps correctly, while Chrome does. I don't use Chrome much, so this has become a problem. As mentioned, I always have to replace the "maps." with "www." to get the map on FF to be fully functional. Unfortunately, most sites still use the old URL with the "maps." I just tried Google Calendar with Chrome as a test. I have a calendar entry with a location, and tried opening it with FF. It displayed the map for this URL:
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=27 ... ssic&dg=oo
but you can't do anything (zoom, street view, etc.) with the map. I tried the same on Chrome, and it launched a tab with the exact same URL, but it works fine. Again, if I change that URL in FF to have the "www." prefix, it works fine. I'm now on FF 33.1 on Win 8.1, and the problem is still happening.

FF engineers: any ideas?
