:) Actually, they seem to have lost interest in Tech and have moved on to other forums. At the moment, Web Dev seems to be the hot item.

BTW, considering how badly we are getting stomped on, the forum is holding up pretty well.

That makes sense, there is only so many times a person can watch a small dog telling them that a galaxy can be tiny, like the size of a marble or a jewel. Point is though, once here they then want to explore the other forums.

Then again, these Guest figures could be totally fictitious and just some geek type glitch.

If it is a glitch, it is a strange one. All the IPs and user-agents are different.

Perhaps someone put a link to mozillaZine forums on some really popular site?

Across any given time period of hours or days, a certain percentage of 'Guests' will make repeated visits to any forum.

I suspect that if you were to check that list then you'd see a 5 - 10% repeating pattern of IPs/UA strings at intervals of every 100 guests or so.

Maybe, but given the fact there was between 500 to 1000 users online during the time it wouldn't be worth the effort to find out. "Visits" from guest were well out of line for our usual numbers and a vast majority were visiting the same forum section at the same time.

Hmm..FWIW earlier I managed to bump users up from 600+ to over 1000 by just reloading the page the page a few times, went up fiftyish every time I time I did it.

I bet dickvl or morat has a Duplicate Bookmark script that they'd like to try on it though. ;)
