mozillazine webpage issues.

Post by Toad Hall »

Urgent...As of today, 25th june 2015, there are issues with website.
The search which uses google does not work - it fails to find anything.
This applies to the search as displayed to the right on this page and also the same search from within a knowledge article. It was fine yesterday.
The 'old search' also finds nothing.

I'm a regualr daily user of these searches as I assist on the Mozilla Support Forum. Please get someone to look at this issue.

Works for me. Have you done any basic trouble shooting? Like clearing cache and cookies?

If you were to register and login you could then use the http://forums.mozillazine.org/search.php which is above the Google site search box if logged in.

Something is obviously not functioning correctly as I'm having to suddenly clear all history every day in order to make it work.
I do not have this issue with any other website only MozillaZine and only using it's search feature.
So if any one has any idea why suddenly only your website search cannot find any results without me having to clear all history each day, I would be very grateful.

Clearing history isn't fixing it for me anymore...

Apparently George banning my IP has fixed it for me again :?:

Well clearing history is no longer a fix.
I've just updated Firefox 39 to no avail.
Search function no longer includes anything from Mozillazine only a few google ads.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get the Mozillazine search working again, it would be much appreciated.

My guess is you have some sort of adblocker or something else that's blocking the page from loading (Ghostery or similar perhaps)? If so, that will block search results from loading. Try with a fresh profile and no extensions, and I'd bet it works.

@kerz: It doesn't work for me in Firefox 39.0

Code: Select all

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0

with a new profile, nor does it work for me in a completely fresh Chromium...

Code: Select all

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD i386) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2125.111 Safari/537.36

I get the 404 page in both cases...

EDIT No custom HOSTS file on either machine.
