Re: Replacement for Extension List Dumper?

I see mentioned in the discussion that there is a code change to ELD that will make it work again. (I'm using FF 40.) Would someone be kind enough either to republish or point me toward the instructions for making that code change?

Thank you!

Might try this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -dumper-2/

This one is also signed and works in 41 beta as well without a warning.

May work in FF 40. (Not on the machine running that version, and can't check.)

Does not work on FF Developer Edition or Nightly. Installs and adds Dump List button, but the Dump List window comes up empty.

Mozilla broke something again.

Well, ELD2 works in both FF 40.0.3 and FF 41beta8. Well, the Copy to Clipboard button works as that's how I use it.

A lot of things no longer work in 43 (according to Aris) so it wouldn't surprise me a lot of extensions are going to barf in it.

I dumped out new lists and put them on my website.

Empty dump list? Hmm.. wonder if it's the same thing that caused the original to stop working?

Here's a great alternative 8-) to ELD and ALD :

1. Install "Custom Buttons" addon
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... enusedwith

2. http://custombuttons.sourceforge.net/fo ... ?f=4&t=218
Clicking the "Addon List Gen" at the top of the page will install "Addon Manager List Generator" button by Sonny Srazzano.

3. Go into menu View -> Toolbars -> Customize... , find new button and drag it to any toolbar.

Works great on Firefox 40.0.3 and on PaleMoon 25.7
Tested on Win 7 (x64)

Seems to be a variant of the same problem. I have a patched version of it that worked previously, but fails again with the same symptoms in FF DE and Nightly.

Interesting. Tried it out. I'll probably keep using ELD until it no longer works.

Works here on FF Developer Edition under Win7, and should work on Nightly.

Thank you. :D

Or you can type "about:support" in the location bar and hit the "copy text to clipboard" button in the resulting window.

Not all of the bells and whistles of an add-on, but all of the basic functionality.

Sonny Srazzano's "Addon List Gen" (ALG) is not the only working alternative to ELD and ALD.
Here's alternative number 2 to ELD and ALD: 8-) 8-)
It's called "Copy Extensions To Clipboard" (CETC) addon by Sören Hentzschel
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... clipboard/

Works great on Firefox 40.0.3 and on PaleMoon 25.7
Tested on Win 7 (x64)

BTW - Both tools work great and give very detailed results but ALG by Sonny Srazzano has a small issue (at least in Pale Moon, I haven't really tested this issue on Firefox) - disabled addons which are marked as "incompatible" by the Addons Manager are marked as ACTIVE on the generated list !!
