THUNDERBIRD_38_3_0_BUILD1 has been tagged and candidate builds (at least en-US) are up.

you seem to have a strong interest. I hope you contribute :)

Sadly the only 'programming' I have ever done was typing Commodore 64 programs from magazines and a little GWBasic many years ago. As well as a little simple scripting in Linux.

There are many ways to contribute that do not involve coding. Some are listed at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird#Contributing IRC is perhaps the best place to talk to someone about it.

AFAIK there's no reason to believe XUL will be deprecated in 45. You're likely not looking at an authoritative source, or a posting that doesn't cite an accurate time frame.

What's happened with Mac daily build ?

1. Mac dailys are currently broken. This happens frequently.
2. there are no l10n builds for dailys/nightlys

That's not your call, so please refrain from making such statements. Thanks.
Having said that, wsm is probably closer involved in these discussions than I am.

Well, something broke big in the 2015-10-08 update. The window continuously flickered at startup with the basic beginnings of the build of the windows. When I started in Safe Mode, I get a very blank screen, no folders, no welcome message. A full install also produces the same result.
