Hi, first time it happened I thought it was an application error as it was something like: ANS8005E Java Applet failed to load. Please ensure that the Java 7 Plugin has been installed for this browser.
and I thought it was searching for a Java v7 plugin. Today I was doing some tests and found there was no more Java plugin on the plugin page and about:plugins is a blank page. Working on a Win10 64bit, latest Nightly (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0 ID:20151202030210 CSet: 470f4f8c2b2d6f82e56e161a4b05262c85f55b59) both 32 and 64 bit Java 8 update 66 installed. I tried with a clean profile, running Firefox as administrator and to search the forum but it is hard to find something useful as there are posts from 2012 onward. So, please, I'm ready to RTFM just let me know where I can find it Thanks.
Ciao,
Rigido.

At the current time, only win32 builds support Java. Its blocked for now on x64 builds, but may be whitelisted later.

I was drunk (it could be ) but it worked until some days (maybe few weeks) ago? Is there any bug/thread I can track to see when they will whitelist it?

I believe the blocking is a fairly recent change, more info here: viewtopic.php?p=14407565#p14407565

It's blocked with plans to totally remove Java support from all versions. If you *require* Java you might possibly have to switch over to IE at some point in the future.

Blocked Add-ons page says Java 8 update 46 to 64, on bug page ( 1217932) looks like update 65 should be ok, but 66 is still blocked... - Code: Select all
java version "1.8.0_66" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_66-b18) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.66-b18, mixed mode)

Does not matter what version you try to use, until the block on x64 builds is lifted on Java, and Silverlight, only Flash will work on these builds.

Actually, Silverlight will be supported in Firefox 43 and up, see bug 1225293. No word on Java though.
