Re: Bookmarks Manager Search Gone in SM 2.3.9 (Mac)
As already mentioned now several times, this is an OSX-specific bug having to do with the way XUL toolbars are handled in OSX.
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

That keyboard shortcut just opens the bookmarks manager window. It does not change what is in that window. Patrick's last code suggestion worked, and the searchbar is now back in the window.ray2047 wrote:Just skimmed this thread maybe I missed it or misunderstood but in Linux Ctrl+b brings up the bookmark manager with search at the top right. Has that been tried in OSx? Maybe Cmd+b?

Didn't you already post the real bug on page 1?

Eh?
Forgot about that, actually.
But they're different. And not taking the time now to understand why the difference?
EDIT: Marked as DUP of Bug 1224907.

Ok wondering if anyone can tell me if i export my bookmarks and then delete SM and start over do you think that will fix the problem? I mean I hate to do this since I've blocked about a thousand ad sites and so forth but this is totally annoying... I loved camino and when that went bye bye went to this SM bc I don't love FF.

Not familar with the MAC but it should have an omni.jar file which is in reality is just a zip file.
Rename the jar file to zip and use you favorite unpacker. Locate the files inside the zip archive. Extract them and edit them with a text editor. Then just repack them into the zip, rename it back to jar and you are in business. Backup the jar first in case something goes wrong and you might need to clear the cache for this to work.
Remove lines with a - sign and add lines with a + sign. The plus/minus is in the first column and must not be in the final file.

Re: Bookmarks Manager Search Gone in SM 2.3.9 (Mac)
Anyone on a Mac thought of trying -
It's a variation of what I do with tabbars and findbars to move them around. Unless Mac is on a 'seek and destroy' mission to hunt down the Places Toolbox, it should have a damn hard job on whacking it when it's right down at the bottom of the window.
Code: Select all
#placesToolbox {-moz-box-ordinal-group:100 !important;}
Feel free, world will still turn as usual.bbowens wrote:yeah, I'm getting ready to throw in the towel, too
