to have a no-modal nodal "save file as" dialog windows

Post by Michael REMY »

hi,

when you download a http file, you have a "save as" dialog box.
often i need to go back to the tab page to copy or just see the file name to use.

but the dialog windows for "save as" is modal-nodal, you can't clic or navigate anywheren you're blocked !

it would be very usefull to un-modal-nodal this dialogbox. at least an option.

Best regards
Mike

I believe the modality of it is because of the way it's called through the OS. The Save As dialog itself is part of Windows. I don't think I've ever seen a Save As dialog that wasn't modal. Is there a piece of software you've used that doesn't do that in Windows?
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

it appears that sometimes i can change the tab and sometimes not, so there must be a trick.

I suppose it might depend on the path you get to the dialog? I donno, I don't think I've ever seen that.
