What happened to Menu Editor?

Post by keithy397 »

Firstly, Merry Christmas!!

Menu Editor not verified and unusable.

I've been using it for years to tidy my menu's up and now they're all a mess! I am aware of Menu Wizard but if there's a working version of Menu Editor, I'd rather use that.

menu-ed wasn't hosted by amo so no signing
http://menueditor.mozdev.org/

removed by author, same -> no signing
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... nu-editor/

get an account on amo and sign yourself

nevertheless menu-ed is buggy and pretty outdated, "s3 menu wizard" is a decent replacement

Hi Brummelchen. I decided I needed some control over my menu's and decided on Menu Wizard. I suppose I'll get used to it and it is nice to see my menu's as I want them and not random.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Keith

I installed v3.04 and haven't noticed any ad's.

Overall it seems ok but not as easy to use as Menu Editor...

ads are disabled by default, see thread.

simple - depends:

checkmarks on/off,
drag&drop when cursor=hand,
can replace keyconfig (but keyconfig is actually the better choice)
show hidden entries with ctrl+right_mouse_button

I discovered today that there's a Menu Editor II (which is signed) which was abandoned after a while because he thought the author of Menu Editor was maintaining his version. I installed it to see what would happen and it picked up on all my old pref's and voila, perfectly as I remember it. I think I'll drop the author of Menu Editor II a line and ask him if he has any intentions of keeping it up to date.

Not exactly a new version.

I know James, but it does the job. Can't ask for more than that!

*Edit* There are some problems with context menu's. I've emailed the author and await a response.
