i'd like to see TB live on but for example under " Apache " or something like that if it departs Mozilla all together

or a Webkit based Thunderbird

wonder if TB45 will be the last ESR release

Google should buy out Thunderbird or Microsoft

It's mostly finding a new home for infrastructure if and when Mozilla kicks out everything from their repositories that isn't directly Firefox. No more challenging question is to which extent the current Gecko and its core components (specifically XPCOM, XUL, XBL, add-on system, etc.) can be maintained by Thunderbird and other interested parties (including SeaMonkey and Lightning) if Mozilla follows done their intended path to essentially strip Gecko from all of those basic features.

I definitely don't want to see Google taking over any Gecko application (and I don't see them being interested, but one never knows what Google is up to for whatever reason). Microsoft is a direct competitor with their proprietary Outlook, thus other than silencing unwelcome competition, I don't see them as a potential collaborator either.

as soon as i mentioned Microsoft i kinda thought that was a bad idea as they got outhouse . but yeah i'd go with the idea of TB an others living with or alongside Apache.

Does anybody know why l10n builds are not running for all TB branches (earlybird, central, aurora) from around 8th of October?
Current builds from comm-central are already 45.0a1, latest comm-central-l10n are still 44.0a1.

Translations from 44.0a1 (xpi) from few days are not working on 45.0a1 - there were probably some breaking changes...

I am using TB with an IMAP server the 'Search' does not find all the messages, if I go to that particular sub-folder and use 'Quick Filter' then it finds all my messages.
Does anybody knows if there is something special to do so that it index (or re-index) all the messages.

Thanks.

Belated merge day heads-up: comm-central is now on 46.0.
Thus, we implicitly have now a string freeze for 45 ESR too.

please file bugs when you see these types of problems.
reporting them here doesn't typically hit the people who need to know

Linux builds have been busted since Dec 16.
Anyone know when they might be fixed?

Does anyone know if the linux builds are any nearer to building successfully? It would be nice to see successful builds resume after the new year.

The latest info for aurora builds seems to be build failures listed at https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=comm-aurora

Not sure if this is the right place to post a bug report, but here it is:

Some build after 24.12.2015 made TB 46 (comm-central mac 64bit) unusable, window decoration is missing, also the message table is empty:

Could this error be the cause?

You are on El Capitan, right? Then this is Bug 1236282 and the errors in the console have nothing to do with this bug.
