Here's quite a specialised one for throbbers -
Note: this only works on
non-gif type throbbers
How do you know what type you've got? Well, if it's the ring of dots type then that's a really old gif. Other throbbers, just give it a try, if you see no throbber at all, you've got a gif there and this is no use to you.
If you've got a fancy W7 type rotating circle (like my one in ML SM) then that's an apng and this works well -
Code: Select all
/*Franks 2 stage Throbber Fix - not for gif throbbers...*/
.tabbrowser-tab[busy] {
list-style-image: url("chrome://mlag/skin/loading.png") !important;
filter: hue-rotate(270deg);
}
.tabbrowser-tab[progress] {
list-style-image: url("chrome://mlag/skin/loading.png") !important;
filter: none;}
What it does is tell me if a site is not loading (like here sometimes) - if not loading it's purple, but once connected to the site and loading it goes back (in this case) to the orange 'ring' state. In other words, a two stage throbbers, but without using 2 throbber images.
The new(ish) CSS3 filter and transform commands have, er, transformed how theme devs write themes (or should do) and I use them all over the place. When you hover over the Print button and it lights up or the Reload button goes green? - css filter commands. My left/right facing Back/Forward arrows? - images? nope, they are the downward pointing Download arrow and I've used css transform commands to rotate it 90* and 270* for those B/F arrows.
(one day, there'll even be a command to remind me where the degree symbol is on this keyboard.
