troothteller is referring to this kb article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recover_messa ... upt_folder

There does seem to be a problem with Burt's page and, once you ignore the warnings and get there, his programs are no longer there. Haven't seen him in the forums lately either...

Freee's download page (linked to from his software page, which works fine) returns a "Not found" for me; I'd suggest to contact him about this issue. Paolo's Linux version delivered a cutmbox-0.1.tar.gz download following that link, as advertised.

Hello. There are some chrome URL's that I'd like to add to the Chrome URLs knowledge base web page. Is this still the correct place to request a KB account? I am debugging some bugs in the Orthodox for SeaMonkey theme, and couldn't find a chrome/XUL link to the help window (looked in the omni, apparently 'chrome://help/content/help.xul'). I am trying to get into contributing to SeaMonkey/ the community, and a KB account would be great.

Account name would just be the same as my forum username, as it has not been taken yet. Thanks.

Done. The mods will help you out if you still need a KB acct.

It is my understanding that that is reserved for special cases such as properly rendering trademarked names that have a lower-case first letter such as eBay, iPhone or scientific designations where lowercase and uppercase letters have different meanings: kW means 1000 Watts vs KB means 1024 Bytes. http://www.sweetwater.com/insync/kilo-l ... pper-case/

Even if someone wanted to change it, there are over 100 entries and it's probably more critical that those entries be updates with current information.
Tip of the day: If it has "toolbar" in the name, it's crap.

Notifications article needs tutorial

Post by badbiosvictim »

Mozilla's notification article lacks instructions. Users need instructions on how to set up notifications. What are the options? Is there supposed to be a submit or a send button? Id o not see any.

My thread has not been solved:

Sign up for a MozillaZine forum account, login to it, and request a Knowledge Base account again.

The page at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Getting_an_SMIME_certificate hasn't been updated in some time. TC TrustCenter needs to be moved from the list of providers to the list of used to be providers. Possibly others need the same treatment.

I found a mistake in the Knowledge Base

Ok, so here I was looking for how to restore settings using my old profile data
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/pr ... -user-data

That webite currently says the profile data is in
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

But actually, the files you want are in
%APPDATA%\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

The first one doesn't even have the .sqlite files. They are actually stored under the Roaming filepath.

Hi yosimba2000,
Thanks for finding that error, but that is not this fora's KB.
It's the "Official Support site."
A natural error, coz of the similarity of the names.
Report it to "them" over there. ;)
Help > Submit Feedback.
If that doesn't work, then maybe someone will know the correct address to notify them.
(I tried a few but none for actually reporting an error in their KB.)
