[solved] how to save the zoomed picture from Amazon ?

Post by Michael REMY »

hi,

Several amazon products get a very large and sharp picture zoom. Not a real zoom (nothing is blurry), it is another dpi resolution file i guess.
i tried to save a picture but, i can't manage to do that.

imagine i want to save the zoom back jacket picture of that product :

https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00CRTRJ88/ref ... HJZW&psc=1

how can i do that ?

i tried the property file, but i can't get the big image. It is strage, because there is only the front jacket big photo in the media property, but not the back.

thanks for your tip.

I think you need to click on the back view picture first, before you start looking through the media files. I think the image you want is https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com ... L1500_.jpg
But then again, I may be wrong.

If the image is on your screen, you can always do a screen capture. That should work, even if nothing else does.

I think until you actually mouse over the smaller pic, the bigger doesn't exist, so so long as you do that first, you should be able to find it as described.

(Never thought to "open" or do anything with the larger shot & finding it odd that you can't, directly.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

After hoving over picture, right click and choose view page info - choose media tab - click type - scroll down to images then cycle through them until you find what you were looking to save as in this case back of shirt. Click save as and voila!

One more tool:
https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/seamonkey ... zoom-plus/
Thumbnail Zoom Plus

"save full-size image as..." in context menu.

Unfortunately Thumbnail Zoom Plus will not work as is with SeaMonkey version 2.40.

Code: Select all

 <!-- SeaMonkey -->
      <Description>
        <em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id> <em:minVersion>2.0</em:minVersion>
        <em:maxVersion>2.39.*</em:maxVersion>

 However there is a way to work-around this using IZArc or an unzipping files utility which supports xpi files-
right click on link provided here or "Add to SeaMonkey button" on page and choose "Save Link Target As..."
Open up the XPI file from the IZArc files utility and right click on the install.rdf file -
choose view with notepad then change the maxVersion (code above) to something above 2.40 (I used 2.50).
Afterwards save the RDF file and confirm to save.
Now open up add-ons manager (in tools) and drag and drop in the thumbnail_zoom_plus-4.0-fx+sm.xpi file.
Restart SeaMonkey - now it works! Tada!

That shouldn't make any difference. What happened when you tried without the modification? Is strictCompatibility set to true in the install.rdf?

Here is an alternaive. Search Google-Images for the website and the product name, in this case -

Amazon.fr G-STAR Manteau Manches longues Homme Vert

which results in this -

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sit ... JbBSQiSses

On my screen about 4 and 5 rows down are the images in question -

https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=ht ... mrc&uact=8

https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=ht ... mrc&uact=8

As you can see, you have the option to open the Website or to open the Images. Open the images -

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com ... L1500_.jpg

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com ... L1500_.jpg

Right Click on the Images and SAVE IMAGE AS.

If the image exists, then Google-Images can usually find it.
