I get the Blue Screen of Death when clicking some links?

Post by Kamil.M »

Hello Everyone :)
I have been a user of Firefox for a long time. Recently I start getting the Blue Screen of Death "BSOD" a lot when I click some links or sites! when this happens my computer restarts, then I find that all my Passwords have been reset in Firefox. I tested other browsers to open those links and its okay, I only face it with Firefox. Below is a photo of the Error.
Thanks in advance

Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

its a driver issue - not firefox.

get the latest updates for windows 7 and current graphics driver.
check also your memory with memtest.

if you like upload the latest three (not more) minidumps (<1meg) from C:\Windows\Minidump

Hi,
Unfortunately I have non genuine Windows, I cant update it. My graphic card driver is up to date.
I have checked the last dump file using "Blue Screen View" application from nirsoft.net and it doesnt show me the cause of the crash.
Here is the download link for the last 2 minidup files: https ufile.io/ad103 sorry I couldnt find the attachment section to upload.
This problem is triggered only if you click on the link using Firefox.
Also I will test with "memtest" as soon as I can.

In trying to download that file Firefox blocked it reporting that the site contains crap stuff... so, I'm out of here...
Also, since you are using a non-genuine Windows... hard to say what is causing that crash... but I'll tell you this... in the 8 years that I've been on this board I think I saw only one other blue-screen crash posted around here where it related in some small way to Firefox....

Also, try a new profile and test it as-is...

And,.... DON'T TOUCH THAT "Choose Folder..." BUTTON! ... unless you fully know all about it.

non genuine means no license or license was dropped
http://www.whatvwant.com/this-copy-of-w ... -solution/

but i dont remember that non genuine windows dont get updates.
so updates are important, without you are not able to fix any with a driver.
idd most common software have requirements and that is in most cases a fully patched windows.

sorry, i'm out.

Well I meant a fake/pirated windows, sorry for my vocabulary :D I used "RemoveWAT" to remove Windows Activation Technology.
Also I tested with Memtest86 with 6 passes and no errors were found.

You did not report back about creating a new profile to test with... please do that...

Also, maybe the new version of Firefox requires some level of driver that the other browsers don't... you can do a little testing about that by bringing down an older 'portable' version of Firefox...but do that test profile first...

Just go back a few version for this test...

i am not sure if it was clever about WAT and that things. first to assume not guilty! there exist better options. anyway any windows get updates - you should install them.

to get the reason pls read this (Method 2/3/4)
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... f53?auth=1

and append the minidumps as zip pls.

(
append the minidump
You've requested that many times, & have only had one taker, that I have seen.
Oh, it was this thread, but they killed the link. I had no problem with the download?
ad103-minidump.rar was the filename. Google will find it (uploadfiles.io).

Moving to Mozillazine Tech. This is not a Firefox issue. Personally, I won't help anyone with pirated software...
