This explains why most of the spoofed spam messages I've received in the last couple of years, claiming to be from people I know, were from yahoo addresses.

Well, that's good to know.....Only thing wrong now is....
all of my email addys are now reported as... "We do not recognize that email address."
What!?
Typical of Yahoo.
Stuff everything up trying to improve things.

I can log in using their recovery system, but after I log out, I'm back to, ^, square one.
Yeah well, I don't use it that much, so no great loss.

Apparently, somehow, they fixed things.
Whooda thought?

Haven't had any issues with my Yahoo email addresses nor any of my ISP email addresses which are linked with Yahoo.
I often change my passwords for my Yahoo email addresses and my security questions for my recovery information.
A while back got a message when I logged in to change my password for security purposes and this was before this news about Yahoo users accounts information being stolen hit the internet/news.

edit: Thought it was Yahoo purchasing Verizon. *oops* *This is what happens when you do way too much IT work.*
Read some more about what's been happening with Yahoo and many Thanks to those here for posting the links about it here in the thread.

It's doubtful, if anything Yahoo might succumb to Verizon's somewhat questionable methods and weaknesses.

It might not go as planned since the SEC is looking at the merger again and it appearsYahoo might not have been fully honest about the breach to Verizon.

Apparently Verizon is locked into the deal so it's going to have to fix it.

Locked?
Read somewhere that the deal isn't completely finalized until 2017? Not 100% certain of that.

Think process not commitments . . .
. . . and on that note maybe Verizon and Yahoo both need a full Monty.
