Fullscreen with F11 only?

Post by tggillespie74 »

Is there a way to have Fullscreen toggle with F11 only? The autohide feature at the top is not very conducive to giving professional presentations. It keeps going off when my mouse is at the top of the screen. I need the Fullscreen without the autohide feature toggling back and forth every time the mouse goes near the top. I don't even know if this is currently possible, or if I am just dreaming big.

Side note: Not only is it annoying during presentations, but it also screws up a lot of games by company's like io... for example slither. It would be really nice if there was an option to disable the autohide feature at the top of the browser and still have Fullscreen on.

If anybody knows how to do this, please let me know. I think that this would be a really cool upgrade if this feature is not available.

Thank you for your time!

Enter "about:config" (without the quotation marks) into the address bar and press "Enter". In the "Search" field enter browser.fullscreen.autohide and, when that setting is displayed, double click on it to toggle it to "False". Then, in the search field, enter "browser.fullscreen.animate" (again, without quotes) and toggle that to "False". Close and restart Firefox and try F11 again.

Thank you for the information Dan. Instead of giving me full screen, it left the search box, address bar, and tabs all still showing. I am still looking into it though...

Have you checked for any extensions that may meet your needs?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... rm=windows

...and I see some other stuff...

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... src=search

And please note... I do not use any of them... just giving you ideas..

... and, if I were you I would create a test profile...install on of them...test..if you like it then install it into your main profile... if not, then I'd remove that test profile, create another one...test the next one.

... the reason I suggest this is that installing one ... testing... then using the same profile and installing another one... uninstalling the first one may not remove all parts and your continued testing of new ones may be compromised... know what I mean?

And,.... DON'T TOUCH THAT "Choose Folder..." BUTTON! ... unless you fully know all about it.

... also... makes it easier to test this stuff...
