Flash Player

Post by shakushinnen »

Hi,
I always seem to have problems with Flash Player; usually sites saying that I don't have it installed. When I try to install it, I get this small file (~1mb) which is supposed to take me to the installation site, but all I get is "application initiation error".
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That nice site for "distribution" of Flash Player is disabled right now:
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashpla ... tion3.html

... so we must use direct links to download full installers:
1) Mozilla (plug-in based) browsers:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashpl ... player.exe
2) MS IE:
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashpl ... yer_ax.exe
3) Opera 24 and Chromium:
https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/ ... nstall.exe

In case of some problems you can use uninstaller:
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flas ... player.exe

Hi TPR,
That helped a lot. At least now the site (https://www.dpreview.com) recognizes the flash player. And when I try to upload a photo, it says that the photo has been queued, showing a thumbnail of the image, so we're making progess. But when I push start (meaning start the upload) the thumbnail shows 'upload failed'. I've been this far before, but have never been able to get passed this point.
Thanks for your help.

Hi TPR,
Thanks again. I find your comment interesting, "Website requires Flash to upload files? Run for your life...!" I have a feeling that your comment reveals a truth that I'm not aware of. Would you care to elaborate?
