What sort of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter.

Very true. However, that entire code section can just be deleted as it's totally irrelevant to the actual problem, i.e. why can't I path to a locally saved image?

How that image/s was originally generated, png;base64 or just directly grabbing a pic of the Net, is not relevant.

I already have a page here reserved for essential base64 stuff, but this one doesn't merit posting it there and linking to it.

tl:dr? - delete the long code and you're done.

Nope, I don't think we need browser spam on the Support threads of every extension dev here, for the next 9 months....and this would be a good time to set that precedent. Please split off + relateds.
