updated to FF 52, gifv doesn't work
Now gifv doesn't work, will it ever?
Such as this,

(also it now tells me Mozillazine's login isn't secure).

Working here.
Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

WFM, Fx52.
Doesn't work with what?
An outdated Fx version or an outdated Chrome, which unless you're spoofing your UA is what you use to post here.

Worked for me as well though there was a slight bump in the load.
It's been functional on Imgur since 2013 when they started to convert Gifs to givf.

No, it does not work in safe mode.
Yes, I have a thing that spoofs the user agent.
GIFV files worked yesterday, today they do not after updating to FF 52.

What is the exact message?(also it now tells me Mozillazine's login isn't secure).
Is your antivirus interfering?
Are you using something like httpseverywhere?
Does mozillazine even have https: support?

Is it possible you are using a different plugin as a reader?
Couple of things worth reading on what's with 52.
Firefox 52
. . . and Firefox release 52

It says,
'This connectiion is not secure. Logins here could be compromised. Learn more.'
In the What's New for FF52 it says,
'Added user warnings for non-secure HTTP pages with logins. Firefox now displays a “This connection is not secure” message when users click into the username and password fields on pages that don’t use HTTPS.'

The only plugins I still have are
OpenH264 Video Codec 1.6
Widevine Content Decryption Module 1.4.8.903
but is it possible it could have been set to play through something that's now been removed like Silverlight?
Is there a place to check this?

Re: updated to FF 52, gifv doesn't work
@usernametoolong - Tried it after update to Firefox 52 and was unable to make it play.
Got a still image and it appeared to be loading by a throbber in the upper right hand corner of the image.
I tried something suggested in another thread by adding this item in about:config plugin.load_flash_only as a boolean set to "false"
It allowed all the other players which had been on the system to show in the /Tools/add-ons/plugins list.
However, the gifv, even after a restart did not play though the image showed.
I did not get an security warnings.
Just to test to see if things were still working I went to Youtube and watched some ferrets dry themselves on someone's carpet.

^^Are you spoofing your UA on that site with the same nonsense you are here, a two year old out of date Chrome?
If so no wonder it doesn't work.

Guys -- you don't see this when logging in automatically, but if you log in via unsecure (http) connection MANUALLY with FFox 52, now you see this:therube wrote:What is the exact message?(also it now tells me Mozillazine's login isn't secure).

Re: updated to FF 52, gifv doesn't work
The warning shows under the password for Mozillazine but initially it didn't show when I logged in the first time after the update.
I'm not seeing it on the Imgur site becasue it's an https site.
Edit: Update - went back with 51 to the Corgi gifv and it played with a slight load delay.
Just a guess but it could be something is waiting to load using 52 which does not occur with 51.
