I missed the previous thread cut-off by a minute. Sod's law. :P

That now appears to affect GIFV media. You can right-click the video and click Show Controls to get a play button, then click the play button.
This mostly happens on imgur files.
GIFV files are MP4s with a different extension. That sounds like the expected behaviour.
itisomegakai wrote:Nightly v55 has a massive memory leak in which WebExtensions doing this leaking. Try ghostery/uBo webextensions.
More so uBo it uses much more CPU and RAM loading pages. Parent process sits on about 200MB for me at a fresh start with the standard version. About 330MB after hitting 500MB for a second with the Webextension version.
e10 off also same.
That doesn't sound like a memory leak. Please note WebExtensions are still a WIP so further optimisation may be yet to come.

On another note, I'm having a hard time finding a time frame for when WebRender will be built with Nightly by default. Have there been any rough estimates?

I'm seeing extreme delays and CPU maxing in many websites since the merge.

Thanks for the link. I'd +1 you if I could. :)

I can see the wonkyness straight away and the rather high memory usage (600+MB just sitting on about:support).
It'll be ready when it's ready, I suppose.

Don't update to Mozilla Firefox Nightly 55.0a1 (2017-03-10) build per Bug 1346215 - Firefox instacrashing startup in [@ DWriteFontTypeface::onFilterRec ] ](*,)
Virtualfox persona
Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.

Dammit, too late :D Startup crash in safe and normal mode. Need to manually downgrade to yesterday build.
