Seamonkey 2.x crashes

Post by cccc »

Hello

I have newest Seamonkey 2.46 installed on fresh WIN 7 PRO 64-bit, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, but it crashes if I have many open tabs.
"use hardware acceleration when available" is disabled.
Even I have tried to disable all plugins, but still doesn't help.
Knows anyone a solution?

Some users disabled OS pagefile when using such big RAM. Do you have it? If not then try to set even small 512 MB or 1 GB pagefile (not 16 GB like Windows suggests by capacity of your RAM).

If you'll break/stop download and then try to "erase" then SeaMonkey will crash. It's known bug and it shouldn't be related to (too) many tabs.

If I have open many tabs or sessions, my seamonkey is freezing and can do only "End Process".
I have the following in the WIN7 system settings:

and I will try to change "Initial size" form 16MB to 512MB.

Seamonkey still crashes, perhaps a BUG.

if I have many open tabs
