What you're seeing is normal and expected. uBlock Origin is choosing that color, it's nothing to do with your style.

it would be nice if you could make ubo avoid that dependency on the about:blank color in the ubo code, so forcing ubo to chose a whitish transparent background for elements.

The picker hides the page which makes it difficult to find the exact element.

The element picker doesn't hide the page, it just display a semi-transparent overlay. If you overlay is opaque, it's because you have user styles interfering.

Hi Raymond,

Even if i found a filter in the log window that could potentially cause this, i can't disable or enable them like in abp, nor locate them using an inexistent search feature
& even subscriptions don't show detailed filters.

Also, i hope the logger isn't creating a big data file in the browser's profile folder because when i open it, i sometimes see the same filter scrolling over & over without being able
to stop it.

I also could detect what filters were active in abp, by resetting all hit statistics & see those who appear after reloading a page.. & i can't do it here.

None of my browser settings allow this, did ubo close it & how can i prevent it ? i don't see where i'm allowing ubo to close the site when i opened an image in a new window,
even if it would have been better to have the window opening in the foreground..

Use the logger to find out what filter is causing the tab to be closed.

I have a suggestion.. I have been facing a specific issue which was finally realized.

look at the process:

I started to get sick of websites taking control of the browser by opening
1 & then 2 or 7 popups, & when i'd be near a crash because of the increase
of browser' size in the virtual memory, while editing a form & then click
on a link in other window/site making sure no other window pops up,
that popup could slow down the browser that had reached a size limit
in my vm & Crash it..

my solution, i changed a setting in about:config that allows me to force
the opening of new windows in the foreground.. & not in new windows,
unless i click on a link to open a mini popup form or right click:
open in new window..

But ubo & abp & others have this issue:

They don't always prevent the "opening" of ads, but in some cases,
they can Close the ads. The bad result: when i click on a page link
to open the right page & clickjacking occurs,
the popup is opened on the foreground & closed.... .
Disallowing me to reach the right page that i initially clicked..

If an ad blocker like yours could just "bypass" (not closing)
the unsolicited forced windows that tries to open through click jacking,
my browser setting & ad filters would be perfectly avoiding ads
(supposed to be opened in new windows) & the right page, file or popup
would finally open while bypassing the unsolicited ad pages
created by evil scripts..

The idea is to let ubo (with an internal timemout, until the right page is reached
through my "click") prevent all pages that are unrelated to the domain+don't include
the initial link's file name & file type or end url's name, to Open.. Meaning that
the browser will not manage that browsing process until ubo finds the final page.

Or ubo could intercept my links clicks & disable the clicking process internally,
so the browser hasn't intercepted the click but only ubo has, & then ubo would
directly go to that page shown on the link (effect: deactivating the sites scripts)
& go straight to that link.

that would be a super great improvement & even for those who don't have my setting,
the unsolicited ad wouldn't even open on a new page..

I have noticed that since the last update uBlock has a problem with "dynamically" inserted content now, while it blocks everything fine to begin with, if on a timer or whatnot or using a meta-refresh injection, etc, etc, they can force intercept it because for some odd reason uB no longer catches the dynamic content - very frustrating since I had rules that worked perfectly that now work only initially and then dynamic content arrives and it just ignores it.

For now I am using the last version that was working fine and have patched it with the relevant new parts to retain that mechanism until he gets it resolved. But you can verify that by noticing the "popup block" notice and then about a second later, it still proceeds. If you enable Firefox's "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" on the advanced tab, at least it will stop it so you can figure out the "WHY" but that will also block any legitimate need for automatic refreshes, so double edged solution.

In short, not entirely accurate but close enough, they are behaving similar to the pop-under and pop-over tricks to bypass blocking. The only way to neuter those is the machete approach of disabling JS while you browse porn, always recommended and use a different stand alone profile for that, for god's sake don't do that on the same profile as your important stuff. And then you have scalpel method which can be difficult and time consuming, find the specific script and kill it with a rule.

EDIT: Found your problem, EasyList is whitelisting their entire ad/bot/redirection resources, kill it by invalidating it using uB and it should do the trick.

EDIT 2: Here you go, give it a spin and enjoy! Repeat for other sites as necessary.

The update proposal addressed to Raymond to bypass unsolicited domains through whitelist without having the browser itself opening the pages
is the expected approach.

i'm not looking for warnings to pop anytime a script is here & that doesn't even lead me to the right page either..
