Hi all - here's my issue. Just got a new motherboard, Z270N-WIFI, new build of win7pro x64 running on it, everything is awesome except this sleep issue. Here's what happens
1) If firefox is NOT open, sleep works just fine
2) If firefox IS open, upon entering sleep (S3) mode the monitor shuts off, the cpu fan continues to run, the ethernet activity light continues to blink, the keyboard is unresponsive, and the only option is to physically power off and reboot. Its like it hangs halfway into trying to sleep
3) If firefox IS open, but then I unplug the ethernet cable, the computer sleeps just fine.
Btw its not just firefox, it happens with any browser.
Also, not sure if this is related, I've got these annoying #2 references in device manager as you can see that would be nice to get rid of..
I tried deleting then reinstalling the lan drivers, to no effect. I also tried the lan drivers directly from Intel, to no effect. Current drivers are from gigabyte and are the most current for my motherboard..
Attached is the network section of my device manager. I've made no changes to the system other than to install the drivers and then went in and unchecked "allow this device to wake the computer" on all items. Any advice is appreciated..
image of device manager is below. Could not get the forum's IMG insert thing to work, as it just says "Image" when I used it.

maybe I'm doing something wrong, but what you have there written underneath CODE:SELECT ALL is exactly what I put in my post, but all that did was produce the word "image". That's why I posted the link as well. Here I will try again,,,

Is your image on a publicly available site? For example below is an image on image shack using the code
NOTE: The link must be direct, to an image file (e.g.,png, jpg, gif,...), not a html file and on a public site.

No problem here with seeing the image.

Did you check the settings in the BIOS as it is possible that network access can prevent going into sleepmode?

That link is NOT to an image file which is why the image tag does not work. It is to a html file
http: //www.macrocharting.com/temp.html
that contains the image file <img src="000001.jpg">
For the image tag to work it would need to look like this which links the image file DIRECTLY
and what do you know, it works!
EDIT: Access to this URL has been changed since this original post to 403 Forbidden.

Since this happens with all browsers, this is an OS issue, not Firefox. Moving to Mozillazine Tech were it can be better addressed.johnoh wrote: Btw its not just firefox, it happens with any browser.
