Importing Firefox Favorites/Bookmarks to new Windows 10 lap
Had to buy a new laptop running Win 10 and need to import my Firefox Favorites/Bookmarks. The old laptop would not boot up so I pulled the HD and bought a SATA to USB cable to transfer photos/music/data etc. Is there a way I can move my Favorites/Bookmarks from the old drive to the new installation of Firefox on my new laptop?

See this article -- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... _-_Firefox
In general, you want to find and copy over the file places.sqlite which contains bookmarks and history information.

You've got to be kidding me - that's the easiest, most straight-forward way?

You see somethings difficult in copying over one file?

Copying a file is simple - the rest of the process you linked to is a nightmare for the average tech-novice.

And yet I did say "In general, you want to find and copy over the file places.sqlite which contains bookmarks and history information."
Have you tried that?

Is this the file you said to look for?

Thanks for all your "help", Dan. I found a way to accomplish what I needed to due without jumping through all the ridiculous hoops you suggested.

Glad to hear that...although I'm still trying to figure out how copying one file from one point to another involves jumping through hoops.
