All favicons gone on the laptop. [Mac.]

Post by kevs »

All my favicons are gone on the laptop , and I love favicons!

They are fine on the desktop.

I did replace the places.sqlite file on the laptop, but even that did not work, so I'm stumped.
Thanks.

Reason: Added [Mac] to the Title.

Thanks.
Your title is pretty generic... all icons are gone ? ... or just Firefox? ... bookmarks????... if just for Firefox... you need to add that to your title.

If just bookmarks... does one of them come back if you visit the site?

Just a FYI... my profile shows 3 files starting with places.sqlite ... maybe you needed all of them?... not sure at this time though.

thanks D, I often think of this forum as Firefox webforum. Any post from me is about FF.

They do come back on the laptop, so of the 3000 sites now about 2-3 are back!. I don't know if I need all three, the web developer of bookmark sorter said to replace only just the one. and did not work.

If you quit Firefox, with recent versions of Firefox, the places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal files disappear. Then you only need places.sqlite.
