Bookmarks don't work, nor "options"

I don't know exactly what happened, but I think that the newest version of Firefox automatically installed itself, and now, whenever I click on a link, a "new tab" opens, but the link itself is launched in a new window. None of my bookmarks work. I can access access Google from my Google toolbar, and links from LastPass, but otherwise, nada.

I did try safe mode and of course it worked fine (why do I never think to do this?). It turned out that one of my most used add-ons is not compatible with Firefox v52. Damn. Would anyone have a suggestion to replace MclickFocusTab?

It hasn't been updated since June 2015 and does not work with Firefox v.52. Or if it does, it results in chaos otherwise, as has been noted in a recent review on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... kfocustab/
