Duplicated sets of folders for new convert from Outlook Expr

I have just converted from Outlook Express to Thunderbird. I have found that Thunderbird has created duplicate sets of folders from my current cable company email provider. Should I delete the second set of folders? Is it safe to do so? What's the best approach?

Since I started the Import from Outlook Express, my Thunderbird GUI has been downloading nonstop for over 24 hours. It downloads the same Inbox over and over again. I don't know when it will stop.

Thank you. Would uninstalling by Revo Uninstaller accomplish that deleting of account?

It would remove the program but you also want to make sure that it deletes the profile folder -- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

Thank you again, DanRaisch. I did uninstall as you suggested. Upon reinstalling it took a really long time to download Local Folders, but it did finally finish. So far so good.

Not sure at all what you mean by "download Local Folders" as that structure doesn't exist on the server but only on the local computer and thus is not downloaded.

I'm referring to the import from Outlook Express of folders that weren't with my ISP, having preceded it.
