Thunderbird Account Passwords

Hi,

I keep my Profile on a separate drive from the C:/Programfiles /Thunderbird.

Does the Profile contain all the account passwords and contacts lists or are some still held in C: files ?

Short of me Encrypting or Vaulting the Profile is there any other way to protect the mails and account passwords from online hackers ?

All user information including account settings, passwords, messages, filters etc are stored in the profile.
