Gandharva wrote:55.0a1 (2017-05-09) (32-bit) Nightly completely ruined my Firefox installations on 2 PCs. After the update everything is extremely slow. Seems hw acceleration is totally broken. The worst part of is, that I cannot fix it.

- Refresh Nightly -> does not work
- Install older Nightly -> does not work (Older Nightly build now show same problems)
- Disable hw-acceleration -> does not work
- Disable multiprocess -> does not work
- Uninstall all addons -> does not work

The only thing that works is starting Nightly in safe mode.

This happened on 2 different machines. What the heck is going on here and how can I fix this?
It sounds like it's time to abandon the profile(s) and start a new one.

Can anyone reproduce this

1. Open: http://i.imgur.com/toIST00.gif
2. Watch as your parent firefox.exe maxes out your RAM - mine hit about 2GB before I killed it.
Micro gaming box: AMD A10-7800 APU, 8gb RAM M350 ITX case (size of a book), Windows 10/Ubuntu
Tablet/Laptop: Asus Transformer T100, Intel Atom 2GB RAM, Windows 10 x86

Nothing special here, right now. Maybe it's related to: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1349991
Though there the GFX process seems to be the problem.

Yeah, as with avada above I can't reproduce this either unfortunately.
Cheers!

Thanks all, perhaps it's a setting I'm using.

* Time consuming to replicate.

Latest nightly seem to abruptly break (larger) mp3 files playback.
Example : https://mp3s.nashownotes.com/NA-927-201 ... -Final.mp3
Seems to break every time I play it, sometimes after some hour+, sometimes after some 2 hours+

Using the console, I could only see the first part is being downloaded upon loading the page, so I don't think this has anything to do with yesterday's #1362821 fix. :-k

(EDIT: Seems like a buffering issue)

My post from 5/4:
The browser seems painfully slow today.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 ID:20170501133120
At first I thought it was this page:
https://blog.nightly.mozilla.org/
But even with the above page closed, it is now slow. It did not act this slow in the previous beta version. It pauses on every couple letters I type.
Windows is VERY quick and responsive still.
With today's update, it seems a bit speedier again. Anybody know which bug fix did this?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0 ID:20170508140042
(Why is "Gecko" still on 2010? I'd think there would be something newer there...)

Thanks.

Hmm...I haven't seen a difference in any of the 54b's, still impressively fast and snappy running the same b6 build as you; e10's enabled..

Is it my imagination or did font sharpness change? Or did Google change its fonts around again?

Well, suddenly playback stops, and the pause & resume buttons ain't doing anything. Only way out is refresh and restart from beginning.
But I suspect it might be a site-specific issue, buffering.
