I planned on buying a RX480/580 until Vega came, but they refuse to put them on sale since early last month. But if you're not particular, you can buy a GTX 1060 3GB for $149 after rebate. Are You A Wiiizard? wrote:Hah! This thing has been living for almost 8yrs, was used for mining for a year and don't think I've even replaced the thermal paste in 6yrs and it's still only 68*C overclocked. I wish Gigabyte would make quality designs again, my Gigabyte 7970 was voltage locked and now I know why... It was $100 cheaper than the other models though but I was hoping to sell it soon for Vega, now I can't afford Vega and need a new card nowOmega X wrote:Coincidentally, that is the same card I had to fallback on when my 280X died. Are You A Wiiizard? wrote:I'm seeing Artifacts on https://assets14.ign.com/videos/zencode ... 639127.mp4
I'm on my old AMD 5750 though since my 7970 just died.
Anyways, the 5750 still pumps out decent fps when not VRAM limited but you practically have to put everything on low just to stay under.
I've also noticed slower Firefox performance, drawing graphs is extremely slow for some reason?
EDIT: Omg they screwed up the themes, refresh is not on the bar and back/forward is seperate even when I haven't navigated to another page. Worst part is it's not even customizable...

I also noticed that fonts render differently than before. The themes thing might be from the implementation of that new design they showed off a while back.

Well, I'm not sure I'd describe it as "screwed up". More like, "finally fixed". Though not being customizable is annoying, since I'd prefer to put the Undo Closed Tabs Button between the reload and the location bar, simply having reload put back next to the (non-hidden) back/forward buttons is already a huge step up, and I can put the Undo button all the way over on the left and be fine with it.EDIT: Omg they screwed up the themes, refresh is not on the bar and back/forward is seperate even when I haven't navigated to another page. Worst part is it's not even customizable...
Also noticed that they put the ⋅⋅⋅ menu in the location bar, though nothing's in there yet. If they fix the conjoined bookmark button and put the star back in the location bar, things will be almost all the way back to a decent UI state.

I live in Australia where AMD is basically always cheaper because people just accept the higher prices and buy whatever the stores recommend so they raise Nvidia prices. That and the logic that more expensive = better. Shipping almost always kills the deals from the US too. Also as you probably know, I keep my cards as long as possible and AMD always ages better (I was considering a 670 but that card doesn't even come near a 7970 today lol) because of higher VRAM and architecturally planning for the future. You probably wont get a deal on the 480/580s now because mining has become much more profitable recently.Omega X wrote:I planned on buying a RX480/580 until Vega came, but they refuse to put them on sale since early last month. Yeah it is from their new design but it's terrible... Why would they implement it without even being customizable?
I actually didn't mind Australis, only thing I missed was having the url bar on the same bar as my tabs.WaltS48 wrote:OMG! They are killing Australis!
Have you changedto true in about:config yet, then looked at the Menu button?Code: Select all

No, it was false and changing it to true does nothing.

Re: The Official 20170513 builds are not yet out
Files which aren't downloaded but rather "Open with..." get deleted from the temp dir upon closing the browser ????
Is this normal behavior/reproducible please ?
STR:
- Browse to https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox ... a-central/
- Click any file, for instance firefox-55.0a1.en-US.win32.zip
- On the Download/Open With... menu, choose "Open With..." and choose your preferred archiver which has a "Test archive" kinda option.
- Upon the download has finished and the archive is opened, test it. All's fine as long as the browser is still open.
- Close the browser.
- Try to test the opened archive again, I get a "This archive can not be found" kinda message. The temp file is gone ?

The patch that was causing the artifacts has been backed out in the latest m-c hourly builds and seems to have fixed the problem. Should be fixed in tomorrow's nightly.Peja Stija wrote:I'm seeing artifacts in .mp4 (codec : isom/avc1/mp42) also :
