Forecastfox Version 2.2.2.1-fixed-signed from browser add-on search works but a bit buggy.

Everything worked fine until ForcastFox got updated yesterday. Everything else still works fine. From what I gather, it doesn't work right with FF 53, which is the latest version that Fedora offers. Is there a place that I can get an older version that still works, and tell it not to update? If so, I'll gladly do so, but if not, it's just a waste of space on my hard disk. (Not that it's a bad add on, just that it can't work for me any more.)

BTW, how hard would it be to add code to check the FF version before updating, and abort if the update wouldn't work? It seems trivial, but I haven't done any real programming in decades, and don't know if it's easy to get that info.

sideburns, you can get the old versions here
Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... n/versions .. pick the version you want and either install it or Right Click and Select Save Link As to save the .xpi file to your computer.

I'm using 53.0 (64-bit), Netscraper. And thanx, 85rx-7se, I've now got version 2.4.8 installed, and set not to update. If and when Fedora upgrades Firefox to 57 or greater, I'll try to remember to upgrade this, but as long as this one keeps working, I probably won't bother. (It's not broke, so why fix it?)

Using Firefox 53.0.2 64-bit and Forecastfox (fix version) 2.4.8 works great. Thank you for the link.

Please use native Firefox-themes.
Non native has some problem for popup-Webextensions windows

Thanks, on default theme works well.
This is the best forecast extension. I would be dissapointed if I can not use it.

Re: [EXT] Forecastfox LOST LOCATIONS with update

Post by PlantEarly »

A few days ago I "lost" my Forecastfox on my bottom toolbar.
Just a few hrs ago I finally clicked on the temperature icon on my top right toolbar to see the updated Forecastfox. Very nice, sorta.

I can't zoom around on the radar like I used to. And I missed the 3-5 day icons I used to have on my lower bar. But I can live with that.

However, I lost all of my locations! :(

How can i retrieve them? I had about 2 dozen. It was my main route for keeping track of friends around the world, as I had their names as the location aliases. Huge loss.

If I restore a previous version, is there a chance that it will retrieve the old locations data file?
Can the old locations data file be converted, or accessed, or copied/moved for the new update to access, or import??

Very sad in Ohio. :(

If you did not delete any files from where they were stored.. usually C:\Docs & Settings\User\App Data .. or C:\User\App Data\Local Low or Roaming .. then you should be able to just tell Firefox to uninstall the version you do not want and reinstall the one that you did. Your data should be okay.
