Get Messages from All Accounts

I have multiple accounts setup in T-bird, all using POP3 mode. There are 7 accounts set up: 2 Hotmail/Outlook accounts, 2 Gmail accounts, 1 Lycos account, 1 Yahoo account, and 1 Verizon (now AOL) account. All of these work if If I check each account individually for new mail. In other words, if I watch the progress at the bottom left side of the screen, I can see each account login and go through the checking process if I do each of the 7 accounts one by one. I have the "Get Mail" button setup to only check what I consider to be my one main account -- this works as expected. So far, so good. However, if I want to check all 7 accounts, I have tried to use the function "Get New Messages for All Accounts (Shift-F5)", but this does not work. I can see that this function checks a few of the accounts, but not all 7 accounts. Is something not set up properly someplace?
