"F" key no longer opens emails

Post by John Harris 555 »

When I receive multiple emails I like to open the whole Inbox stack by keying down through it with the "F" key. As the emails open the listing shifts from bold text to normal text.

For some reason this F-key feature has suddenly stopped working. How would I go about restoring it?

Thank you for your insights. John

Are you opening new messages in a tab, window or the "message pane" (optional pane below the folder listing that also gets used to list conversations)? I use the latter and it still works on my PC with 52.1.1. Do you have the same problem with the N key? It should work identically to the F key for unread messages.

See if your problem is due to an add-on by using "help -> restart with add-ons disabled"

Thank you tanstaafl. I discovered that the "message pane" had somehow dropped below the bottom of the page. When I pulled it back up (that is, pulled the panel open) the F-key started working again. Regards, John
